GOVERNING BOARD
Each village elects 2 members to represent them at the Ward Committee. Two members from each committee are then elected to the Governing Council. At December 2006, the RWDA was active in the Ilongero and Kinyeto Wards of Singida Rural District where 851 villagers from 14 villages had organized themselves into 52 groups.
The rural women who are the direct beneficiaries of the work of the Association are constantly being involved through Participatory Rural Appraisals. It is hoped that as women become more assured and girls acquire a good education, that they will become active members of the Association.
The aim of the Association is to make all projects sustainable by transferring all ownership and management to the women themselves.
