Building the Ilongero hostel

This hostel has 16 rooms (8 back to back) with an amenities block, store room and matron room on each side within a courtyard for added security.

Chicken rearing business

These pictures were taken by our Australian volunteer Jane Davies in Sept and Oct 2008. A group of women are being trained on how to rear chickens as a business. A large kibanda (chicken house) is being built with plenty of enclosed room outside and some of the women have received Government training (VETA)to pass on to the other group members. The trainers also came to the village for further mass training.

Seminars and workshops

Groups of women (and forward looking men) attend seminars in issues they want to know more about. There has been seminars in leadership, budgeting, self awareness, family planning, hygiene. Many more are planned.
