Two great volunteers are raising funds.  See their message below posted on Make Friends on Line. If you'd like to sponsor them, please go to the link at the bottom of the page.  Their 12 miles walk is the average distance that many girls and boys have to travel daily to reach their secondary schools. Their efforts will help us finish the hostel for girls at Ilongero.  We hope that you will want to contribute. Alexa and Madalice are in training

On Saturday, October 11th we will set off from somewhere around London and walk towards Brighton. We are hoping to get there (but there are plenty of pubs along the way... apparently)

We are doing this in aid of The Kanga Project
http://www.thekangaproject.org/ an organisation which helps rural women and girls help themselves in Tanzania. Another mfo member Singida contributes so much more to this project than our little effort and I'm sure she will be happy to answer any mails concerning it

Did I say little effort? Actually....

What we're going to be doing will be SO painful, hard, blister-inducing, tortuous NO FUN AT ALL so please support us in this masochistic act and sponsor us either per mile or a total sum (make this clear in the comments if its a total). We aim to do at least 12 miles... but we'll see how much incentive there is for us to carry on...

Er... and also, if we get more than 25 mfo sponsors - we'll do it as chickens
